Incredibly unique! A Grand Cafe that roasts its own coffee beans. We are the only one that does that in the whole of Europe.
Our discovery began in 2015, when we were in the middle of the concept phase of the new Post-Plaza. Thoughts such as 'what makes us unique now', 'to which we can add our own quality', but we were mainly looking for experience within the new Grand Café. Do we have to brew our own beer or create our own vegetable garden? Until we ran into the men from Giesen Coffee Roaster at a hospitality fair. This had to be it! We're going to roast our own coffee beans. But how do you do that? After a long education, Jesse Fennema has become our own coffee roaster.
After many tests and trials we have our own Post-Plaza coffee. Jesse is responsible for the roasting process and he makes sure that every cup of coffee tastes the same. The advantage of roasting yourself is that you have a lot of control over the quality and therefore keep it high. Jesse roasts more than 5000 kilos of coffee beans per year. This not only for ourselves, but also for other hotels, companies and our guests. In the shop of the Grand Café you can buy our coffee beans per 250 grams or per kilo.
